Meet Zuzu. She's a classically beautiful yellow girl with a heart of gold and the kind of temperament everyone dreams of in a Labrador Retriever! She's easy going, loves other dogs, is fabulous and gentle with children, and people of all ages. STLRR rescued her from one of Houston's high kill shelters. When she came to us, she was morbidly obese, weighing in at 115 pounds. She also had several "lumps" that needed to be checked, and after the vet exam, we unfortunately discovered that she had a Mast Cell Tumor on her wrist. Zuzu saw a specialist surgeon who performed the removal of that tumor, and she will soon have an "easier" surgery to remove a second mct. Zuzu is a very lucky lady and has a fabulous foster home, helping her through her recovery. She is recovering very nicely from her initial surgery, and she is also down to 98 pounds!! Though she has a bit more weight to shed, everyone is so proud of the progress! Zuzu currently lives with other Lab foster siblings, and she gets along beautifully with everyone. She rides great in the car, is potty trained and crate trained, and an all around super girl -- her foster Mom also says she would make a great therapy dog one day!
This very special girl has already stolen the hearts of everyone at STLRR, and we're certain she'll completely, head-over-heels-in-love, steal hearts in her very own forever home one day soon!! If you are interested in adopting Zuzu, please fill out an online application today!
