Meet & Greet/Adoption Availability: Flora has fully recovered from heartworm treatment (without problems) and has now resumed her visits with adopters.
Flora (aka Florabelle) is a fantastic dog for someone looking for close companionship. She is happy to lay by your feet and unless you want to play with her, you will not hear a peep. Flora lives in a foster home and she is fully house-crate trained, doesn’t chew on other’s properties, and doesn’t dig in the yard. Flora does love nature: either for walks, or to check for squirrel activity, which sometimes can make her barking of excitement. Flora is food motivated, but not food obsessed, which makes it easy to work with her on obedience. By far her favorite thing is to chew on a bone but she has also learned to give it back when asked. Toys are also a favorite, she loves to run around or simply take a nap with them. She is a great car rider and is always ready to follow you for new adventures and encounters. Flora is fully vaccinated, spayed, treated for heartworm, which makes her ready to be adopted on the spot!!!
Update 8/14/11: Flora is such a good girl! She is fun, playful, inquisitive and loving. She loves to stick by your side, but isn't too needy. She is eager to please, and settles very well in the home. Though she loves for you to play with her, she can also entertain herself with her toys, loves to retrieve, rides great in the car and is easy in the crate. This sweet girl is so deserving of her very own loving home!
Flora would do best as an only pet. Sadly, because of that reason only, this very special girl has been in our program for far too long, waiting patiently for her forever home. She would love a place to lay her head at night. Are you the one she's been dreaming of?
