Please keep in mind that our volunteers have full time jobs. STLRR does not have any staff people and relies exclusively on the generosity of our volunteers to respond to requests for contact. Our volunteers typically respond via email (not telephone) and may take several days to get back with you, so please be patient. Many times people will email us and when we try to send an email response, our email is blocked by the person's spam filter. If you want us to be able to respond to your message, you need to disable any spam filters on your email account. Unfortunately, our volunteers simply do not have the time to try to become authorized senders for your email account or to call you. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Notice to those wishing to relinquish/rehome their personal lab.
Effective July 1st, 2005, we will no longer accept owner surrenders into our adoption program. Please check with your local animal shelter and SPCA for guidance and referrals on the best place to take your dog.

Found Labs
Due to the vast numbers of Labrador Retriever's being 'found' in and around the Houston area, STLRR regretfully is unable to take in any additional 'found' labs at this time. If you have found a Labrador Retriever, please contact all Veterinary office's in your area and post large, clear signs around all major intersections near you. If you are unable to keep the dog you have found, please contact your local Animal Control.

If you are able to safely house the Lab you have found, STLRR will be happy to assist you in rehoming the dog by advertising him/her on our website. Each dog must be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered prior to being posted on our website. There are several Veterinarians around Houston that offer discounted services that we can refer you to.

STLRR reserves the right to collect an adoption fee for any Lab placed through our program.
