Our on-line adoption application is below - if you experience any technical difficulties with the application, or if you would prefer to send your application via USPS or via fax - please email us at info@txlabrescue.org and we'll send you an application in a Word Document format. Our fax # is (866) 436-4996.

If you are approved, we will begin introducing you to the dogs we have in foster homes. Please see Adoptable Dogs for information on our current dogs. The adoption process involves some time and effort, but be patient....we want to ensure that we match you with the right dog. Once a match has been made, we will execute the Adoption Contract, and collect the adoption donation. The adoption fee for all STLRR dogs is $300.00. Where does the money go?

Health:
All dogs will be up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered and on heartworm and flea preventative.

Requirements:
We also require all new adoptive families to attend obedience classes with their new family member, thus ensuring a strong bond and many years of happiness between the Labrador Retriever and Family.

Adoption Application:

PLEASE only fill out the adoption application if you are interested in adopting a dog from our program.  It is difficult for STLRR Associates to handle getting all adoption applications processed in a timely manner only to finish an application and find out that the applicant is not yet ready to adopt, has decided NOT to adopt,  or has adopted from elsewhere.

Applicants, please allow STLRR Associates a couple of days to often times a couple of weeks to complete your application.  We will make every attempt to get it processed in a timely manner so that you can move on with the adoption process.  Thank you!

How did you hear about Southeast Texas Labrador Retriever Rescue (STLRR)?

Please give a brief statement as to why you want to adopt a Labrador Retriever from a Rescue group:

Are you willing to have a STLRR representative visit your home by appointment to approve your application prior to adoption?

If no, please provide a reason:

Have you applied with other rescue groups or are you in the process of applying with another goup?

Please list groups if applicable.

If yes, has a home visit been scheduled/completed by this organization?

May we contact this organization to share information?

Have you adopted previously from STLRR ?

How will you submit your application fee?

Southeast Texas Labrador Retriever Rescue can not provide a complete history of dogs coming into our program as most will be coming straight from shelters where they were picked up as strays.  Labrador Retrievers will be temperament tested before being accepted into our program however we can not make any guarantees as to any behavioral issues that a dog being placed in your care may or may not have.  Are you willing to work with your adopted Labrador Retriever in conjunction with STLRR to correct any problems that may arise?

Do you understand that under no circumstance may the Labrador Retriever you adopt from STLRR be transferred to any other person without prior approval of Southeast Texas Labrador Retriever Rescue if something arises making you unable to keep your Labrador Retriever?

Additional Comments:

Thank you for your application to adopt a Labrador Retriever from Southeast Texas Labrador Retriever Rescue! You will be contacted within a few days to discuss your application.

Please be aware that STLRR is run solely on volunteers that do work full time jobs as well...so it may be a day or two before someone is able to contact you.  Thank you!!
