Welcome to our Adoption Application Process!!
This process consists of:
An APPLICATION TO ADOPT step, which includes:
(1) Filling out an application accompanied by a $25.00 application fee (which will go toward the adoption fee).
(2) A phone interview for the applicant, his/her vet and personal references
(3) A home visit
(4) A review of the applicant's file by the STLRR Board for final approval
The application process takes anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks to be completed. STLRR operates on an all volunteer basis, and we are not always able to complete applications as quickly as we would like.
An ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are approved, we will begin introducing you to the dogs we have in foster homes or kennels. Please see Labrador page for information on our current dogs.

Please be aware that as we have an everyday dynamic flow of adopters and we can not "reserve" particular dogs, we cannot promise that a particular dog who caught your eye will be available until the application process is completed.
The adoption process involves some time and effort, but be patient....we want to ensure that we match you with the right dog. Once a match has been made, we will execute an Adoption Contract, and collect the adoption donation. The adoption fee for all STLRR dogs is $300.00.
Health:
All dogs will be healthy, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea preventative.
Recommendations:
We also strongly recommend all new adoptive families to attend obedience classes with their new family member, thus ensuring a strong bond and many years of happiness between the Labrador Retriever and Family.
