Abby is a typical 13 week old Labrador puppy, full of life, playful and inquisitive. At 11 weeks old, she was found wandering the streets all alone by a concerned citizen. Unsuccessful efforts were made to locate her owner. The person that found her had no choice but to turn her over to a shelter, at which point STLRR stepped in to prevent her from being taken there, as shelters are no place for puppies who have not had a chance to develop immunity to disease.
Abby is currently living in a home with her foster mom and dad, and three lab foster sisters ranging in age from 2 to 11, and she gets along well with them all. She loves to play and can entertain herself with a ball or squeaky toy.
She is currently working on housebreaking and although it is her first day in her foster home, she has not had an accident in the house. Her first night was spent in a crate and once she settled down, she didn’t make a sound the entire night.
More updates to follow!
Update 2/7/12-Abby is doing wonderfully well. She is beyond smart and a quick learner. She is currently enrolled in obedience at Battleground Canine and has already mastered several commands. She continues to do well with her potty training and has had no potty accidents in the house. Abby is an affectionate girl who loves to cuddle and be close.
